After taking a questionable stroll through Las Vegas’ sketchy parts, I decided to hitchhike back to my hotel. I caught a ride with a nice couple from Delaware who found my east coast style of vagabondery endearing. Driving back up the strip I saw Stratosphere, and made the split second decision that I should check it out, grab some panoramic views of the city skyline and ride some rides. I bid the Delaware couple farewell, threw them a fiver for their time and journeyed to the top of Stratosphere.
I’m happy I made the decision! By the time I got to the top of Stratosphere, the sun was just setting and I got beautiful views of Las Vegas, the desert and the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountain range.
And of course, as a solo traveler, when people see you trying to take selfies of you, they offer to take photos with your camera. But I have a Nikon D40 DSLR, which no usual tourist knows how to use. So I got these awesome shots.
Blurry shot!
